Locanda Sorrento on East Campbell Avenue is a full-service Italian restaurant that blends the warmth of a southern Italy trattoria with Campbell’s downtown charm. It’s a spot where locals come not just for a meal, but for the experience of authentic, handcrafted Italian flavors in a relaxed yet vibrant setting.

The atmosphere is bright and inviting, with decor that evokes coastal Italy’s seaside towns—think warm wood tones and subtle Mediterranean accents. The seating arrangements work well for intimate dinners as well as small groups, with a banquet room tucked in the back for celebrations or special gatherings. On weekends, the restaurant feels lively yet approachable, making it a comfortable spot for everything from casual lunch with family to a festive evening out.

Guests rave about the genuine Italian vibe, enhanced by staff who speak with Neapolitan roots and add personal touches to the service. This cultural connection comes through not only in hospitality but also in the food itself, where dishes emphasize traditional recipes with fresh, scratch-made ingredients. Pastas like Linguine Del Golfo and Cacio E Pepe highlight the kitchen’s commitment to homemade textures and balanced flavors, even if dishes like the Cacio E Pepe can trend toward salty depending on preparation. The menu also features the kind of Italian staples you’d expect—meatballs, lobster ravioli, fresh bread served with pesto, and pizzas with carefully balanced toppings.

Locanda Sorrento’s cocktail and wine bars complement the food perfectly, with local diners often pairing their meals with limoncello or carefully curated wines, adding to the overall relaxed, sit-back-and-enjoy feeling. The cocktails and drink menu match the quality and authenticity found in the kitchen, making the place equally suited for an early afternoon catch-up or a lively evening with friends.

This restaurant suits anyone interested in classic Italian dining that values tradition and hospitality over flash. It’s especially appealing for locals who appreciate a familiar, friendly atmosphere where staff remember your name and preferences, and for small celebratory parties that benefit from the warm, intimate setting. Weekends and early evenings tend to be the best times for soaking in the full experience, with the bright interior offering a pleasant environment that doesn’t feel overly formal or rushed.

Overall, Locanda Sorrento stands as a spot in Campbell where the sense of place comes alive not just through food but through the subtle details of service, space, and cultural authenticity.

Locanda Sorrento in Campbell absolutely blew us away. Hands down, this was the best and most authentic Italian dining experience we’ve had in the entire county. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt transported. The vibe is warm, charming, and cozy. Just like a little trattoria you’d stumble upon in southern Italy. The staff are all originally from Napoli, greeted us in Italian, and made us feel like family. That hospitality, paired with the quality of the food, made for an unforgettable night. We started with the focaccia basket and an antipasto platter. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For our entrées, we had the gnocchi and a ravioli dish with tiger prawns in a pink sauce. The gnocchi were light, pillowy, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth. The ravioli was stuffed with crab and lobster and paired so perfectly with the sauce that we haven’t stopped thinking about it since. This meal was not only delicious, but my husband and I both agreed it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a very long time. We can’t wait to come back for our next special occasion. Grazie, Locanda Sorrento!

Enjoyed an early afternoon, Saturday lunch with family. Vibrant, bright atmosphere, nice, intimate seating, and a banquet room in the back. Enjoyed the singing birthday wishes, beautiful plates, generous portions, calamari, bruschetta, halibut special, salmon dishes, wine and limoncello drinks. Inviting more loved ones to meet me here!

The atmosphere at Locanda Sorrento is bright, beautiful, and so relaxing. The staff are always kind, welcoming, and genuinely warm. It feels like visiting friends every time. And the food? Absolutely incredible. I’ve celebrated four of my friends birthdays here now and one of my own, and each time has been unforgettable. Truly one of my favorite places!

Cacio E Pepe pasta was a bit undercooked, but I like the fact that their pasta was homemade. They bring out a big cheese bowl and mix it before serving. Quite a nice show. Since there's a lot of cheese, it'a quite salty. Parmigiana pizza was quite nice and had a right amount cheese and tomato sauce, but I wish it was a bit hotter when served (they should service the pizza right out of oven rather than waiting for the other dish to be ready). Located at one end of Campbell downtown, parking may be a bit challenging and I highly recommend coming in early to find parking space. Reservation is recommended as this restaurant is popular.

Delicious food, quality drinks and awesome service. From the host, servers and atmosphere, this is a gem in Campbell’s downtown. Mgr/owner? was very accommodating to some intolerances, and provided some alternatives to their dishes. High quality, made from scratch entrees and drinks were also high quality. The decor gives coastal Italy vibes. Would highly recommend this place.

So my sister asked me to take her 8 year old daughter on a fun uncle and niece lunch. As a good uncle should, I really wanted to introduce her to as authentic of an Italian restaurant as I could find in Silicon Valley. After doing my due diligence, I found an interesting prospect called Locanda Sorrento in Campbell. There are several other locations in Pleasanton, Danville, Lafayette and Brentwood. It turns out the founder Enzo Rosano is from Naples and his niece Annalise and her partner Rosa manage the Sorrento location. I made a reservation for two and let my sister know I had picked a place. The parking lot is quite small and tight. Only a handful of cars can park there when it's less busy. Otherwise you need to round the block in search of street parking. The exterior of the restaurant is bright blue and white with some nice touches such as the faux shutters and hanging flowers. As you enter, there is a large well-stocked bar that covers the entire width of the front half of the restaurant. There is also a dining area in the back half along with a larger private dining room for about 10 people. The inside of the restaurant feels lively and the staff is welcoming and friendly. My niece and I sat in the back dining area. With the initial bread, it was not your typical olive oil and dab of balsamic vinegar in a shallow plate. Locanda provided a tiny bowl of pesto, which was freshly blended with loads of garlic, grated cheese and basil. We couldn't get enough of it, it was addictive! We looked over the menu and ultimately decided to order the Gnocchi Sorrentina, a hearty dish with house made gnocchi in tomatoes, mozzarella, Parmesan and basil for my niece and I was curious enough to try the Trofie Al Pesto, slivers of pasta floating inside an ocean of glorious pesto. My niece enjoyed her gnocchi, although the portion size was too large for her. She gave it a valiant attempt, and ate as much as an 8 year old could. I was also struggling to finish my pesto pasta. It was quite delicious but consuming all of it was also a bit more than I could do. Large portion sizes is usually a plus for almost everyone but I try my best to finish a dish without taking it home. In subsequent trips, I found their Cacio e Pepe to be the highlight of their menu. The waiter rolls out a cart carrying a huge barrel of Parmesan Reggiano. They drop fresh pasta and sauce into the crater and excavate more cheese with a spoon. Then they get busy mixing and stirring the pasta, sauce and excavated cheese. By the time it gets plated and served, it is like a cheesetopia. One bite could whisk you away into Parmesan Elysium. The Fritto Misto aka fried calamari, Polpette meatballs and prosciutto with hearts of palm antipasti are all worth trying. I tried their Picanha cocktail and enjoyed the dark berry tartness and saltiness. They appear to have an extensive wine menu but I'm not really a wine person so I can't judge. My sister later told me that my niece really enjoyed the meal and experience. She also asked to have her next birthday dinner at Locanda Sorrento with our entire extended family. I was a proud uncle!

Got the insalata Fresco, great salad but definitely could be better, barely felt the citrus dressing. The cacio pepe was outstanding! The cheese wheel and the whole antics, the pasta itself was a little undercooked, quite hard and definitely too sticky and undercooked. The pesto was amazing, presentation wise 10/10 but pasta was undercooked again! Flavors were amazing for sure. Chocolate soufflé was such only okay, barely had any molten chocolate, vanilla gelato was top notch! The soufflé felt similar to the Trader Joe’s molten choco lava cake so didn’t get the special feeling

First time here and we loved it! From the cute decor and great atmosphere we were already living it as we walked in. The food was delicious. I had the lasagna which was delicious and my husband had the linguine with clams and shrimp. The service was great! We will definitely be back! Almost forgot to mention my expresso martini which was one of the best I had.
